Wait, what's Forgejo?
Forgejo is an open-source git repo hosting solution like GitHub or GitLab, written in Go. It's developed by Codeburg, a democratic non-profit organization, and is focused on security, scaling, federation and privacy.
Forgejo was "forked" from the Gitea project in the interests of being a more open, accessible software project.
Forgejo has a strong feature set for individuals and teams, including unlimited organizations, users, and repos, and an excellent migration tool built-in, that can clone your repos from multiple other git hosts, including GitHub and GitLab.

Want to learn more?
Forgejo has truly excellent documentation that covers nearly anything you can think of. And if you want to get a feel for how it works, you can check out Codeburg, a site that is running Forgejo and serving more than 10,000 users.

Questions you might ask:

Can I import or mirror my repositories from GitHub?
Yes, Forgejo has a feature to mirror repositories from multiple other git hosts. See their documentation article here.

Do you support LFS?
Yes, LFS is switched on by default. If the standard server size does not have enough disk space you can request extra volumes for an additional fee.

Are there CI / CD options?
Yes, a number of CI / CD tools can be integrated with Forgejo. Forgejo also has a feature called 'Actions' which is similar to GitHub Actions, and you can connect that to your own actions runner. (Or, we can provide you with managed runners as an add-on feature, just contact us).

Can I edit the HTML templates? What about adding themes?
Yes, you can get SSH access to edit the templates if you need, just contact us and we'll work with you to set up access.
If you want to add third-party themes, you can do this with SSH access, or we can add the themes for you. Just ask us!

Where is the VPS hosted?
The server is hosted with Hetzner, usually in their central European region. Additional server regions may be available upon request.

What if your instance sizes aren't powerful enough?
No problem, we can work with you on a more powerful server. Please contact us for details.

What assurances do I have that my data is safe if your company goes out of business?
You have full control over the data stored by Forgejo, and regular backups are also taken. In the event the company goes out of business, all customers would be notified and given sufficient time to download a copy of their repositories etc.
You are not locked in to SourceCamp and you can at any time get a backup of your Forgejo repositories and move them to a new instance of your choosing. You can also push your repos to other remotes.

What assurances do I have that you’re not accessing the data for your own purposes?
I do not look at customer data. This is a core value of the business. Privacy is paramount.
SourceCamp is a fully managed service which means we will apply updates, monitor, and maintain the security of the box. As with all hosting, including web hosting and VPS providers, it is possible for somebody at the company to look at data inside the container.

Do you make any claim over ownership of the data on my server?
SourceCamp does not make any claim of ownership over the data you push to your instance.

Do I void any kind of contract if I break my server through incompetence or error?
If you break the server, we can help you restore from backups and/or spin up a new server. No contract is voided.
